So if you haven’t seen, I am doing a giveaway on my youtube channel. You can find that here:

While I haven’t done a giveaway before on my youtube channel, I have been part of them in the past through other ways, both as somebody competing to win, as well as the person in charge of giving things away. It has been years though, and I always seem to forget…. Just how horrible they are.
Seriously, ESPECIALLY as the person giving something away. I posted that video, and within HOURS I had not tens, but HUNDREDS of private messages begging for the laptop, telling me how poor they are, how it would change their lives, etc. And I’m sure that for some of these people this might be true. But when it comes to a contest, with very specific rules… you don’t magically get to jump in line just because you’re “poor” or from a “poor family”. 90% of these people (if not 100%) are completely ineligible for the contest due to their location. So, even if they entered legitimately, and “won” they would NOT get the laptop. Plain and simple.
I know this is a bit ranty, I just wanted to have fun, and give away a cool prize. But the constant pressure, and forced guilt make me never want to do it again… how do other people put up with this?
